Happy Sunday Drifters!
Here we are at the end of another amazing week. This week we launched our ‘Let’s Bewitch Them’ collection to a really uplifting reception from our customers. Thank you so much to everyone who has bought pieces so far! Your support means the world to us and we’ll be absolutely delighted to make up these garments.
Following our ‘Let’s Bewitch Them’ shoot last Saturday I also squeezed in another mini-shoot on Monday with model Ellie Harker in a little boho den. I wanted to showcase our older prints and garments in the kind of setting I imagined them being worn, exhibiting a little more of our creative, bohemian lifestyle tastes. Ellie is just the perfect face for our brand too with her gorgeous long dreads, hippie attitude towards life and genuine joyfulness and humour. I never want to be one of those brands that are about unattainability or making the wearer feel better than anyone else. I hate it when brands are expensive or elitist just for the sake of eliminating a whole segment of society from being able to access them and selling superiority complexes. I’ll never be one of those women who carries a certain handbag just to show off my perceived material worth. We make our clothes affordable and accessible because we want them to be open to as many people as possible. I shot these images in a homely setting with this stunning but down to earth girl to express that friendly vibe.
We spent today among a bunch of truly amazing women with similarly kind, open and collaborative attitudes towards one another. Recently formed feminist group Girl Gang Leeds are an offshoot from Girl Gang Sheffield and Girl Gang Manchester. They support women’s work and encourage friendship, collaboration, strength and creativity and today in honour of International Women’s Day they put on an all-female craft fair at local drinking hole ‘The Social’. Given the awesome group tht organised this it was guaranteed to be an amazing, uplifting event. Tune in tomorrow to read my review of the brands, artists and makers involved alongside the event itself.
I hope you’ve all had equally tremendous weeks doing what you do! Take a look at the cute and lovely results of my boho den shoot with Ellie below.
Much love, Jenny xo
